A Historic Meeting for the Future of Multilateralism
The Forum on the Future of International Organizations is a unique global event organized by Rotary International District 1660. It will be held on March 14, 2026, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, and is part of a series of events and conferences regularly organized there. (here is a report on the 2024 edition)
In a world marked by a succession of crises—whether geopolitical, health-related, climatic, or social—international cooperation has never been so vital, yet it is also very fragile. International organizations face major challenges such as rising tensions, fragmented dialogue, and a loss of public confidence. Rotary International, positioning itself as a longstanding player in humanistic and humanitarian diplomacy, is launching this Forum to provide a collective, concrete, and open response to these changes.
Our club is involved
Several members of our club are actively involved in organizing the Forum, particularly in communications, coordinating with speakers, but also in technical aspects, photo coverage of all events during the week, and video production.
We also organize several cultural events and fellowship opportunities on the days leading up to the Forum.
Their commitment is a concrete example of our club's ability to engage in international projects and contribute directly to the reputation of Rotary International. This event is not only a highlight for Rotary and its partners, but also a source of pride for our club and for all those who have been involved in it, some for several years.
A global gathering to rethink international cooperation and take concrete action for peace, health, and education.
High-level speakers.
Dozens of nations represented.

The Forum on the future of international organizations
Maison de l’UNESCO à Paris
The event aims to continue the shared history of international organizations and Rotary, which notably contributed to creation of UNESCO in 1942, the drafting of the United Nations Charter, the elaboration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the launch of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988 alongside the WHO and UNICEF.
L’ambition du Forum : Agir pour la Paix et le Changement
In the face of the observation that “the world is changing faster than institutions,” one central question guides the work: How can multilateralism be reinvented to build peace, protect global health, and guarantee access to education for all?.
The Forum, which aims to bring together 1,500 participants from all walks of life (diplomats, researchers, NGOs, young people, entrepreneurs, academics, and Rotarians), is not only a place for discussion, but also a real platform for action and a space for solutions.
The Forum is an opportunity to reiterate that, as emphasized by Governor Mamadou Camara, peace cannot be decreed: it is built through dialogue, mutual understanding, and collective action. While international organizations provide the framework for global cooperation, this Forum will be the workshop where civil society forges the tools needed to strengthen it in the face of the storms of our time.
The main objective is to produce a white paper bringing together the proposals and courses of action that emerge from the discussions. This official document will then be submitted to UNESCO, WHO, and UNICEF in order to contribute to international thinking on global governance and have a real impact on the international debate.
The Forum will bring together high-level speakers from governments, NGOs, associations, experts in many fields, as well as Rotary International leaders and members from around the world.
The Forum will focus on four major areas of discussion:
- Culture, Peace, and Education through UNESCO's Work
- Global Health, Governance, and Crisis Preparedness in relation to the WHO
- Youth and Innovation through UNICEF's Approach
- The Future of Multilateralism and the Challenge of Legitimacy.
