Club history
Admitted on October 16, 2001 and sponsored by Rotary Paris, Rotary Paris Agora received its charter from Governor Gérard Morel on Saturday, March 16, 2002.
Rotary Paris Agora is a club created as part of a pilot program aimed at introducing a modern, simplified Rotary club formula, while embodying Rotary's ideal of service and operating according to its main principles.
It attracts young professionals, as it is better adapted to their life and work rhythms.

The Swedish Circle: A Page of History
Founded in 1891, the "Svenska Klubben i Paris" is the oldest Swedish Cercle abroad. Among its first members was Alfred Nobel, Stockholm-born chemist and founder of the eponymous prize.
Our club met in these rooms for nearly 20 years in its lounges with breathtaking views of the Tuileries Garden.
Today, the Swedish Circle cultural association continues to operate, but its restaurant has closed permanently.
Alfred Nobel leaves a legacy of 31.5 million Swedish crowns, estimated at 180 million euros. This fortune came from his invention: dynamite.
In his last will and testament, written on November 27 1895, Alfred Nobel requested the creation of an institution that would be responsible for awarding prizes each year to people who had rendered great services to humanity, enabling progress in the field of knowledge and culture.
His personal writing desk, on which he wrote this will, is preciously preserved in one of the salons of the Cercle Suédois.
Rotary Paris Agora turns 20!
To celebrate this anniversary, we organized a friendly and festive evening at the Cercle Suédois, our long-standing meeting place.
Guests wandered through the salons of the Cercle Suédois, stopping off at the desk of Alfred Nobel, once a member of the Cercle founded in 1891, and discover this peaceful setting in the center of Paris, brimming with stories and History.

Rotary Paris Grenelle
On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, we were all gathered for a very special occasion: the charter presentation of the Rotary Paris Grenelle, a club we sponsored.
Rotary Paris Grenelle is a club located in the 15th arrondissement. Its President and Founder, Sergueï Bavykine, is a former member of the Rotary Paris Agora, who sponsored the new club.
On this occasion, the new club receives its charter from the Governor, while the president of the sponsoring club presents the traditional bell.
