This twinning has been made possible thanks to the close ties maintained with Marc Bouzy, a former member of Paris Agora who has moved to Sofia. He has joined the Sofia International club, becoming its President in 2020-2021.

Since January 2021, Rotary Paris Agora has supported Rotary Sofia International, which organized the supply of medical equipment to Zlatograd hospital.

The combined efforts of our two clubs provided over €3,000 worth of medical equipment.including contactless thermometers, medical gloves, hand and floor disinfectants, over-glasses, protective visors and gowns.

In August 2021, our clubs jointly supported the Louis Braille School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Sofia in renovation work.

A joint donation of €2,500 has enabled the refurbishing facilities used for training, professional integration and welcoming families.

2021 : Visit to Sofia

Our club had the opportunity to visit the Sofia International in Bulgaria in November 2021.

These few days spent together enabled us to strengthen ties between our members but also to visit the Louis Braille School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, to see the finished renovation work and talk to the teaching staff.

2023: return visit to Paris

Rotary Paris Agora hosted Rotary Sofia International over the weekend of June 10, 2023.

This visit to Paris marks a new stage in our already fruitful collaboration : our two clubs took part in a Global Grant approved in June 2023 (total budget of 35000€) to purchase medical equipment and train staff for a reception center for disabled children and elderly people in the town of Samokov.
