Governor Alexandre Guiard's congratulations

Each year, the District Governor visits each of the clubs that make up the district. Far more than just a follow-up meeting, it's an opportunity for exchanges on the organization and objectives of the clubs.

Following this visit, he took the time to write a thank-you message to the club and its president, which you will find below.

It is with immense pleasure that I take up my pen to express my sincere thanks for the warm welcome you gave me yesterday during my visit to the Rotary Club Paris Agora, as District Governor.

Your presence, marked by respect for the rules and your influential position within and beyond the club, are qualities that give the Rotary Club Paris Agora a special aura. The diversity of members present during my visit, particularly the presence of many future Rotarians, testifies to the club's openness to opportunities in the outside world.

I am particularly enthusiastic about the idea that six new members have joined the club's ranks since the beginning of the year, and Olivier's induction during my visit is a concrete testament to your commitment to recruitment. This dynamism reinforces the very essence of Rotary, and I am convinced that under your leadership, the club will continue on this promising path.

The objectives you shared with Christiane, the Assistant Governor, are not only ambitious but also essential for the sustainable development of Rotary Club Paris Agora. The desire to stabilize the club by establishing a clear framework and ending any deviations is a crucial step, and I am confident in your ability to achieve this goal.

The second objective, focused on recruiting diverse members, is already an undeniable success. Your vision of making the club attractive through a diversity of professions and skills is commendable. Olivier's induction and the initiatives taken to improve the club's level highlight your commitment to excellence.

I would also like to congratulate the club on its local commitment, particularly the action taken with the’Institution Nationale des Invalides for which the Rotary Club Paris Agora obtained a District grant. This initiative reflects the positive impact that the Rotary Club Paris Agora has on the local community.

As District Governor, I am honored to have witnessed these achievements and to share these inspiring moments with you and the club members. I remain at your complete disposal to support any initiative aimed at further strengthening the Rotary Club Paris Agora.

I would also like to warmly thank the members of your club for their support of The Rotary Foundation and for their support in the fight against Polio, Rotary International's flagship initiative. As long as the world has new cases of Polio, the disease cannot be eradicated.

Finally, I eagerly await the participation of all your club members on January 30th at Sorbonne Concert in Support of the Fight Against Polio. This event offers an excellent opportunity for exchanges with other Rotarians, inviting non-Rotarians, sharing memorable moments, and strengthening club ties.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your warm welcome and wish you a 2023–2024 Rotary year filled with friendships forged through service, as we work together to bring hope to the world.

Alexandre Guiard
Governor of District 1660 for 2023–2024
