Timbo: Bikes for schoolchildren in Burkina Faso
Created in 2005, the Tinbo - recognized as a charitable organization since 2007 - works to provide schooling for children in Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso.
It supports these children by providing them with school supplies, a daily meal, mosquito nets and soap.
The Tinbo association keeps track of their progress, thanks to two local teachers, Gildas and Kam.
What's more, every year, members of the association travel to Burkina at the start of the new school year. The first pupils we accompanied were in elementary school. Today, 14 years later, they have all grown up and gone on to secondary school.
To help pupils get to the 3 schools we support, the association aims to provide them with bicycles. The price of a bicycle in Burkina Faso is 69€.
This action is part of thestrategic focus Rotary's "Literacy and basic education" program.
